The US amphibious assault ship USBonhomme Richard pulled in Hong Kong waters on Monday to get replenishment.

Captain Daniel Dusek, commanding officer of the USBonhomme Richard, told a press briefing that the sailors will stay in Hong Kong for about 4 days, take a tour of some places of interests and participate in some volunteer work.

Commissioned in 1998, the 257-meter long, 32-meter wide, 40,500- ton USBonhomme Richard carries a crew of more than 3,000.

The primary mission of USBonhomme Richard is to embark, deploy and land elements of a Marine landing force in amphibious assault operations by helicopter, landing craft and amphibious vehicle.
