A group of 20 Chinese agriculture experts and business executives from China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is visiting Cambodia to explore possibilities to strengthen and expand agricultural cooperation.
The delegation is led by Zhang Mingpei, director-general of Guangxi's Department of Agriculture.
Speaking during a meeting with Cambodian Minister of Agriculture Chan Sarun on Monday, Zhang said that the visit would provide opportunities for both sides to promote cooperation in agriculture.
He pledged to provide support to Cambodia in developing modern agriculture, especially crops such as rice, cassava, sugar canes and fruits.
Zhang also proposed that Cambodia support Chinese investment projects in agriculture to broaden bilateral cooperation.
On his part, Chan Sarun said the delegation's visit would further enhance Sino-Cambodian ties and thanked China for constant support to Cambodia for its economic and social development.
During the visit, Zhang will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on agriculture cooperation with Cambodian Agriculture Ministry on Tuesday and attend an agriculture promotion conference.
In addition, Zhang and his delegation will pay a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and make a donation of 100 tons of rice to Cambodian Government for humanitarian activities.
