Shanghai Disneyland Resort on Tuesday denied claims it prevented visitors from cities with confirmed COVID-19 cases from entering the resort.

A photo of an “emergency notice” doing the rounds online appears to declare that people with ID numbers from cities including Fuyang in East China’s Anhui Province, the Binhai New Area of Tianjin, the Pudong New Area in Shanghai and Lincang in Southwest China's Yunnan Province would be refused entry to the theme park.

However, Shanghai Disneyland Resort told the Global Times on Tuesday the claims going viral on Chinese social media are not true and that the theme park is operating normally, albeit with enhanced safety and health measures in place.

The resort is located in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area where there have been seven confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Monday – all related to cargo businesses at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport since November 9. Airport authorities have arranged nucleic acid tests for people working there.
