The trainers of a detachment of Chinese First Mobile Force of the Armed Police recently organized a police dog assessment to test the obedience and anti-disturbance abilities of police dogs. In the test, a 4-year-old Malinois Heilong (which means black dragon), completed the task brilliantly, facing a ham sausage placed in front of him with calm and poise.

The police dog test also included obeying a "standstill" command and response to firecrackers being set off.

In the test, the dogs sat in pre-drawn square areas. If they left their designated position, they would be eliminated. To further test the canine's determination, the team of judges used ham sausages to increase the disturbance. But in the face of this temptation, Heilong showed no sign of being moved. Later, the trainer lit a long string of firecrackers to simulate the sound of gunfire to see if the dogs would be frightened and scatter, but once again Heilong was equally at ease and completed the test with flying colors.

According to the CCTV-7 television channel, this armed police dog squad, of which Heilong is a member, was established in 2006. It has led dogs in several regional competitions and exercises, and carried out various security missions during the two sessions, making a series of outstanding achievements.
