A new art exhibition featuring more than 70 abstract artworks that explore Asian abstract art was held on Saturday in Fuzhou, East China's Fujian Province.

Transfiguration: Shuang Ning New Abstract Works Exhibition displays artworks from Tang Shuangning, who has dedicated himself to abstract art under the artistic name Shuang Ning.

The exhibition, divided into four sections, includes Chinese ink paintings that show the beauty of nature and the universe through Tang's life experiences.

Tang said that abstract art sets people free from solidified aesthetics and provides people colorful aesthetic space.

He added that he studied the advantages of freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese paintings and Western abstract art to explore how to further innovate Asian abstract art.
