Russian Embassy celebrates CPC centennial singing Chairman Mao poem on Weibo, among sincere, creative blessings from other embassies

Many foreign embassies in China congratulated to 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) this week on Chinese social media in forms of text posts, pictures and videos, expressing their affirmation and appreciation of the essential role the CPC has played in developing China and benefiting the Chinese people.

The Russian Embassy in China on Thursday published on Weibo a video of Russia's renowned Alexander Red Flag Song and Dance Troupe singing in Chinese The Long March, a song adapted from a poem written by Chairman Mao Zedong in 1935.

Video clips of the performance had totally received more than 3.8 million views on Weibo as of 11 pm Friday, the Global Times found.

"In November 1952, the troupe performed in China for the first time with a strong line-up of more than 250 members, and forged a deep friendship with the Chinese people," the embassy introduced on Weibo.

Also on Thursday, the embassy shared a video footage of Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov extending congratulations to the CPC centennial in Chinese. 

"Without the CPC, there would be no New China; the CPC has made brilliant achievements over the past 100 years," Denisov said in the video, and sent best wishes to the CPC members and all the Chinese people.

Embassy of Argentina in China published an article of Sabino Vaca Narvaja, the Argentine Ambassador to China whose Chinese name is Niu Wangdao, on Weibo on Friday. 

In the article, Narvaja said it is his honor to have the same name "Wangdao" as Chinese translator Chen Wangdao, who translated The Communist Manifesto in 1920.

"I chose 'Wangdao' as my Chinese name when I first came to China; because one of the first translators of the Communist Manifesto into Chinese was named Chen Wangdao," Narvaja wrote. "It's my big honor to share the name with Chen, and even greater honor to witness the centenary of the CPC."

The Embassy of Pakistan in China on Thursday shared a letter from Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Weibo. In the letter, Khan said Pakistan and China are "iron brothers and strategic partners." 

 "Our two countries are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and China is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. On this landmark occasion, I congratulate the governments and peoples of the two countries," Khan said.

The Iranian Embassy in China posted on Weibo on Thursday, congratulating the CPC's centennial, and the completion of the goal of building China into a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

"Both the Iranian and Chinese people are the people who advocate justice and are not afraid of violence. We are genuinely pleased by the remarkable achievements China has made on path of development it chose," it wrote in the post.

The embassy also shared the Chinese-language congratulations that Iranian Ambassador to China Mohammad Keshavarz-Zadeh sent on Twitter. "Wish China become more and more youthful, and Iran-China relations continue to display new dynamism, under the guidance of the CPC," he wrote.

On Thursday, the Cuban Embassy in China shared on Weibo a video of Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira. In the video, Pereira speaks in Chinese to congratulate the Chinese people on the occasion of the CPC's centennial.

"Along with the Chinese people, the CPC...has made remarkable and earth-shaking progress for the destiny of Chinese nation," Pereira said. "We appreciate the exemplary role it has played and the extraordinary ability it has demonstrated in safeguarding China's sovereignty," he added.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in China said on Weibo on Wednesday that China has played an important and constructive role in resolving international and regional issues, and praised that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has brought benefits and opportunities to people around the world.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in China wrote on Weibo on Thursday that "wish China, its wise leaders and friendly Chinese people keep progressive and prosperous."

Over the past century, under the leadership of the CPC, China has achieved hard-won economic growth, remarkable social development and the poverty alleviation goal that has improved the lives of hundreds of millions of people, said the Weibo account of the Israeli Embassy in China on Thursday.

The Qatari Embassy in China posted a picture with greetings on Weibo on Thursday, and shared an interview between Ambassador to China Mohamed Al-Dehaimi and Xinhua News Agency.

In the interview, Al-Dehaimi spoke highly of the achievements China has made under the guidance of the CPC, including China's contribution to human development in the space sector.
