Travel agencies and online travel firms can resume operations of cross-provincial group tours, and ticketing and hotel services in provinces where medium- and high-risk areas for COVID-19 have been cleared, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said on Tuesday.

The resumption of traveling between eligible provinces was part of a set of updated guidelines released on Tuesday for preventing and containing coronavirus in the case of travel agencies, performance venues including theaters, internet surfing premises, and entertainment facilities.

In low-risk areas, there are no unified limits on theater capacity, and local authorities can decide according to the local situation, the ministry said in its latest guideline.

Similar rules apply to internet cafes and entertainment facilities.

The approval of new commercial performances involving overseas destinations, Hong Kong and Macao will be temporarily halted.

Commercial performance events in medium- and high-risk regions will be temporarily suspended as well.
