820 confirmed local COVID-19 infections with Delta variant in E. China’s Jiangsu cleared

The confirmed local COVID-19 infections in the recent flare-up in East China's Jiangsu Province have been cleared as of Monday, as all the accumulated 820 cases reported since July 20 have been discharged from hospital. 

According to the Jiangsu health authority, all 235 patients from Nanjing where the resurgence originated, 12 from Huaian, 570 from Yangzhou and three from Suqian in the flare-up caused by the Delta variant, according to China's National Health Commission, have been discharged from designated hospitals for COVID-19 patients. 

At present, all six confirmed cases being treated at hospital are imported infections. Besides, there are two imported asymptomatic carriers that are under medical observation. 

Between January 22, 2020 and September 13, 2021, the province has reported 1,592 confirmed infections, including 140 imported cases.
