The spokesperson's office of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been engulfed with flowers and "thank you" cards sent by young people to appreciate the government's efforts to rescue and help Huawei's CFO, Meng Wanzhou, return to China safely. This has been seen by many Chinese as a major progress for China's diplomacy

Pictures of flower bouquets of various colors are shown in an article posted by the office on Monday. "The office is now a sea of roses in full bloom," said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Hua Chunying, at Monday's press briefing noting that they were deeply moved by the gesture.

"Thanks for all your efforts! You have done a hard work!" read one card attached to a rose bouquet.

Hua said at the briefing that the flowers represent Chinese people's sincere support and recognition for the Party and the government for their ability to firmly defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and businesses, and represent the public sentiment and opinion.

Meng's return on Saturday after being illegally detained for nearly three years in Canada has been met with cheers from the Chinese people, many of whom expressed their true pride for being  Chinese and belong to a powerful and reliable country.

The news of Meng's return to China received nearly 400 million likes on the online platform of the China Media Group on Saturday night alone. Citizens in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province, voluntarily gathered at the airport where Meng's plane landed holding "Welcome Home" banners.
