Man in central China is arrested, suspected of killing 21-year-old woman in morning jogging

A 41-year-old man has been arrested by police on suspicion of killing a 21-year-old woman when she went for a morning jogging. Many netizens have urged severe punishment over the outrageous fatal case.

According to the police's statement in central China's Hubei Province, they received a report on November 1 that the victim, surnamed Zhu, had been missing since she went out for a morning run that day. They immediately launched a search. 

In the early hours of November 5, Zhu's remains were found in the bushes of the local Nanmen Hill.

The suspect was caught on Monday, said the police in Shiyan city, Central China's Hubei Province, in the statement released late Monday night. The arrested suspect is surnamed Zhang, aged 41. Both the victim and the suspect are from Zhushan County of Shiyan.

The case has sparked widespread debate on the Chinese internet with many calling the case "heinous". Many netizens have also called for a strict punishment of the suspect if convicted.
