Dalian, a city in Northeast China's Liaoning Province, released on Thursday the information of eight people who would be put on a blacklist for breaking rules of COVID-19 prevention and spreading fake or improper information.
Dalian disclosed the names and dishonest acts of the eight accused, as well as the corresponding legal basis and police bureau that reported their information. Two of them were found breaking anti-pandemic rules by illegally opening a board game room and leaving the lockdown residential area.
The other six were accused of disturbing public order after they made up and spread fake news or improper comments.
A kindergarten teacher surnamed Song said on Wednesday on Sina Weibo, China's Twitter-like social media platform, that she wished more people could get infected of COVID-19 so that she does not have to look after the annoying kids who would stay at home.
Others spread fake news of the nucleic acid testing results, the number of local confirmed COVID-19 cases and the anti-pandemic situation on WeChat, one of the most popular social media platforms in China.
Since November 4, Dalian has reported a total of 280 local confirmed cases in 14 days in the latest outbreak of COVID-19 as of Wednesday, regional health commission announced.
