Douyin, the Chinese version of Tiktok, has recently conducted another round of crackdown on accounts violating community rules. According to an announcement released by Douyin's official Wechat account, a small number of accounts on the platform were fabricating homogenized stories and video captions to gain traffic.

The stories did not only have the same scenarios and texts, but also make up sensitive and emotional stories centering on controversial rights and wrongs, which seriously affected users' experience.

Douyin set up a special team to optimize the model strategy, upgrade product features and other means, and seriously address accounts that violated rules repeatedly or were deliberately breaking community rules.

The relevant illegal contents were taken down, and the management team has also addressed non-compliant accounts and listed the reasons for the punishment on those accounts' home page, said the announcement.

The announcement also listed several typical cases, such as one video captioned with "a food delivery staff nearly kneeled for me because of a bowl of spicy soup."

Douyin's management team reminded users not to be distracted by such content and urged creators not to participate in the production and release of inaccurate information to attract traffic and gain popularity.
