Arriving and departing aircraft passengers related to the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will be secured by all-round protection with independent terminals at the Beijing Capital International Airport while the series of test events for the upcoming Games are ongoing amid the new resurgence of COVID-19 in China.

A new batch of 136 athletes, members of media groups and officials from the International Olympic Committee related to the "Experience Beijing" test events entered or exited the closed-loop management of the Beijing Olympics on Tuesday.

As an important link of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the "Experience Beijing" project with 10 international events, three international training weeks and two domestic test activities is taking place at eight venues across three zones —downtown Beijing, its northwest Yanqing district and co-host Zhangjiakou, North China's Hebei Province - through to the end of the year. The project started on October 5.

The new arrivals traveled into three zones and via six airlines. The Beijing 2022 Organising Committee's arrival and departure center and the airport operations team has established a complete set of plans and a sound information transmission mechanism and work transferring mechanism to make proper arrangements.

The committee has been increasing nucleic acid sample collecting sites and speeding up customs clearance and inspections to properly handle  the flow of people, logistics and vehicles.

Zhang Yang, a deputy secretary-general of the airport operations team, said the T3-D independent terminal is designated for Olympics-related personnel arriving at the airport and T3-C and T3-E zones are for those leaving the airport.

During the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Beijing Capital International Airport will implement closed-loop management for all Olympic-involved security areas and all the security personnel shall take secondary protective measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Aircraft were reportedly the source of the latest flare-up in Shanghai, in which a patient contracted the virus in an aircraft contaminated by imported virus.
