A female patient lying on an operating table while making a gesture with her hands as if she were swiping on a phone screen has amused the public recently.

Doctors said when she made the gesture she was not yet fully awakened from anesthesia and was only half-conscious.

In the video clip that went viral on Chinese Twitter-like Sina Weibo, the woman can be seen lying on the operating table and raising arms to her eyes, with nothing held in her hands.

A doctor asked if her "phone" had a "signal," and was shocked to see the patient carefully checking the "signal" and answering yes.

"Swiping the phone has clearly been engraved in her DNA," one netizen joked.

"I have similar experience too! I once shouted to the doctors that I don't want to go back to work when I had not yet fully recovered from the overall anesthesia," commented another.
