A stone statue at a mountain pass at a scenic spot in Jinan, the provincial capital of East China's Shandong Province, has gone viral as it looks like Wu Dajing, a Chinese Winter Olympic short-track speed skating champion.

Many netizens said the stone statue was the spitting image of Wu Dajing. Wu Dajing himself commented on the video with a simple "ahhhhh," expressing his shock.

The person who took the video said he felt the statue looked exactly like Wu Dajing when he saw it, so he took the video and posted it online. He never expected to get a reply from Wu Dajing himself.

A staff member at the scenic spot said the statue didn't take inspiration from anyone, but depicts a soldier guarding the cliff from the ancient times, and no one expected it would look so much like the Olympic champion.

"I'm going to take a photo with 'Wu Dajing!'" wrote one netizen on Weibo, the Chinese twitter-like social media.
