A grandma in her 60s was the center of attention at a nucleic acid test site in Xiamen, East China's Fujian Province, for carrying her two grandchildren on a carrying pole. Netizens jokingly said that in this way, not only could the grandma save herself some energy but also ensure that the two kids are one meter away from each other just as the anti-epidemic rules require.

In response to a severe COVID-19 outbreak that has affected multiple provinces in China in recent days, Xiamen has launched nucleic acid testing in several communities related to the epidemic. Among them were a grandma and her two grandchildren, both only two years old.

Finding the kids too heavy to hold, the grandma thought of her carrying pole, and put the children in her baskets on both ends.

A medical worker surnamed Wei said that the kids were very polite and the grandma has been very cooperative for the community's work.

As the video was uploaded on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo, netizens expressed their respect for the grandma but also pointed out that someone in her family should have helped her and the children, instead of letting her do it on her own.
