 No casualties have been reported after a 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit Xingwen county of Yibin city, Southwest China's Sichuan Province on Wednesday morning, but 911 people have been affected. 

The local government immediately sent 10 rescue teams consisting of 391 people to the epicenter and surrounding areas for rescue operations, disaster inspection and secondary disaster prevention.

"There have not been any casualties and no houses have collapsed at present. We are still counting the number of people affected by the earthquake," a staffer from the emergency management bureau in Xingwen county told the Global Times at 5 pm on Wednesday.

According to CCTV News, 911 people from three townships in Xingwen county and its neighboring Changning country have been affected by the earthquake as of 2 pm on Wednesday. Among them, 741 people have been urgently transferred to safe places, as 671 dwellings were damaged and a highway in Xinwen county was disrupted.

Power supplies and communication networks weren't affected by the earthquake.

At present, a working group has been sent to the earthquake area to investigate the situation. Places with geological disaster potential, schools, water conservancy facilities and mines within Xinwen county are receiving comprehensive inspections.

The China Earthquake Networks Center said the epicenter was monitored at 28.22 degrees north latitude and 105.03 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 10 km, Xinhua News reported.
