An old man was pushing an electric bike with green onions on both sides in Baicheng, Northeast China's Jilin Province on April 22. He was supposed to sell the green onions he had grown to help his family. But the old man did not know how to use a smartphone and could not scan the code to enter the market.

A guard at the scene then noticed the old man's helplessness and anxiety. The old man told them about his situation. After learning the situation, the chengguan officer asked the price of the green onions and promised to buy them all. "Please weigh them out and I'll buy them all. Then you can go home early and have a rest," the officer said.

Later, witnesses posted the video online, and some netizens said that: "This is real law enforcement, and this is a person worthy of the uniform. Filling hearts with selfless love  is the best policy." On the other hand, some suggested that they should provide more convenient policies, such as issuing paper health QR code to the elderly who do not have smart phones so that they can access public places.
