Northeast China's Jilin Province has lifted restrictions on travel to other provinces and regions by restoring normal operations on expressways from Sunday after making achievements in controlling COVID-19.

According to the Jilin Provincial Expressway Group CO,.LTD, highway toll fees will be waived from Sunday for vehicles that carry medical supplies against COVID-19 or agricultural products, including vegetables, fruits and meat. Vehicles carrying other kinds of anti-epidemic supplies will be charged normally.

All vehicles will also pay highway toll fees from Sunday with the exception of those with emergency transport permits under special circumstances.

After the announcement of zero-COVID status at the community level on May 14, Jilin Province has reported less than 50 COVID-19 cases daily since the beginning of May, a huge progress against the virus which severely stoke the region from mid-March to mid-April, with over 1,000 infections every day.
