In response to the students’ infections on the Liangxiang Campus of Beijing Institute of Technology, all infected people, close contacts and others at risk have been transferred to designated hospitals or centralized isolation sites, officials said.

The Liangxiang Campus of Beijing Institute of Technology has been classified as a medium-risk area for COVID-19 due to more than three domestically transmitted infections have been reported in the last 14 days, officials said.

Fangshan district has requested a comprehensive check of personnel and vehicles regarding logistics, cleaning and canteen food that have entered the campus since April 27, and to implement relevant risk controls.

A total of 64 cases of COVID-19 infections were reported in Beijing between 3 pm Wednesday and 3 pm Thursday. Of these, two were identified during widespread nucleic acid screening in the communities, officials said.
