A J-7 fighter jet of the PLA Air Force crashed in Xiangyang, Central China's Hubei Province on Thursday morning during training, leading to damage to residential buildings. Two civilians injured, one dead, pilot ejected safely, according to media reports.

The injured pilot and personnel on the ground have been taken to hospital for proper treatment, with the cause of the accident and injuries are under further investigation, CCTV reported.  

Videos circulating online show flames and smoke billowing from what appeared to be the crash site, while the residential building was reduced to rubble.

Local emergency departments have rushed to the scene as soon as they received the call and will release follow-up information as soon as possible.
