Certain US officials' provocative acts of pointing fingers and sowing discord between China and India using the border issue are despicable and the two countries are able to deal with problems through negotiation and dialogue, said the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

Charles Flynn, the commanding general of the US Army Pacific, said on Wednesday that the Chinese activity near the China-India border is eye-opening and some of its infrastructure under construction is alarming.

Commenting on the remarks, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said that the overall situation at China-India border tends to be stable, and China and India are willing and able to deal with related problems through negotiation and dialogue.

"You are an Indian reporter and know very well the current situation on the China-India border," said Zhao to the reporter, adding that front-line troops of both sides have achieved disengagement in most areas along the western section of the India-China border.
