A three-day citywide nucleic acid testing will roll out across Jilin city in Northeast China's Jilin Province starting Monday, the city's epidemic prevention and control work group announced Sunday night.

The move came after the city registered one asymptomatic infection on Sunday, a staffer from the Jilin city epidemic prevention and control work office told the Global Times on Monday morning, noting that all the residents in the city will receive three nucleic acid tests once every day during the three-day period.

Those who fail to take the nucleic acid tests will be granted yellow health codes with which they can only deal with emergencies such as going to hospital or taking nucleic acid tests, according to a notice released by the city's epidemic prevention and control work group.

During the period, unnecessary personnel flow should be avoided, said the notice.

Besides, all the public transportation, including buses, taxis, car-hailing services, tourist passenger transportation, and tourist boats will also suspend operation.
