The remains of Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53) will return to China on September 16 from South Korea as both sides have agreed to complete the handover.

This marks the ninth annual repatriation after a handover agreement signed between China and South Korea on the basis of humanitarianism, amicable negotiation and practical cooperation. Since 2014, the remains of 825 CPV martyrs have returned home.

Chinese officials from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs negotiated with the delegation from South Korea's Ministry of Defense on Sunday, setting the date of the handover. The two sides also agreed to deepen exchanges and cooperation on the handover of the remains of CPV martyrs, as this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
