Sometimes being rich and bored may cause problems. It was reported on Monday that in Linyi, East China's Shandong Province, a watermelon farmer called the police after he found a large number of watermelons had been stolen from his greenhouses. It is estimated that at least 454 kilograms of watermelons were gone. According to the current market price, this caused a loss of about 2,000 yuan ($299) for the farmer.

After checking the security cameras, the police identified an expensive vehicle that appeared to be parking in front of the greenhouse.

Then the police learned that three suspects were involved in the theft: Two men and one woman. The first time they had stopped in front of the greenhouse, they saw the security cameras and immediately took off. However, later the vehicle returned to the unmonitored greenhouse and the three stole the watermelons.

After the police caught the trio, they confessed that they were stealing the watermelons at night out of boredom. "I can't believe these rich brats went to steal the farmer's watermelons. Having wealth may not be that important. What is important is good moral education," one netizen said.
