'JINGPHOTO' - photographic exhibition

The JINGPHOTO event is the first ever art fair in Beijing to focus exclusively on contemporary photography.

More than 50 international and domestic galleries and more than 10 collectors will take part in the first season of the Beijing photo fair.

The show aims to provide an open and diverse communication platform for global audiences to see how the art form has developed in China's culturally prosperous city.

As a highlight, the event has invited different artists to launch NFT collections. Each collection includes 2,000 artworks that will only be issued one time.

The exhibition has five sections, including a standard gallery exhibition and collectors' treasure exhibition alongside forum and photobook sections that are aimed at getting visitors and art book publishers more directly involved in the event.

Early bird tickets for the event are now on sale.

'Dream flight' - magic show

Are you a big fan of magic shows but never really had chance to see a magician perform right in front of your eyes? This show in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is going to be an eye-opening event that can perhaps fulfill your "magical" dreams.

One of the most special features of the show is that it takes place in very different settings such as mysterious old mansions and theater to present audiences with an immersive experience while they interact with magicians during the show.

To give a preview but not spoil the unseen show for audiences, participants in this event will be taken to an old house where magicians will perform at the mansion's theater: a secret basement.

Talented magicians will also dress as airplane pilots and housekeepers to interact with participants.

The whole show is scheduled to run for 90 minutes and it is not suitable for children under 13 years of age.

Where: Illusion Magic Bar, Chengdu

When:  Until October 30, 2022

Price: 228 yuan ($32)

'New Painting' - art exhibition

This recently launched art exhibition in Shanghai is a solo show for Chinese artist Li Hanwei.

Li is an artist who seeks new artistic expressions that involve digital creativity and technology.

In New Painting, Li plays multiple characters such as a doodler, tour guide, gesture painter and software user. Audiences will have to look close at Li's artworks in order to distinguish between what was created by a human and a computer.

Li is an emerging artist whose specialty is using the language of commercial advertising as metaphors in art to describe the complex relationship between identity and brand.

Born in 1994, the artist has also brought many of his works to art scenes in European cities such as Berlin in Germany and Nice in France.

The exhibition's venue - the Madein Gallery - is dedicated to promoting international exchanges between overseas and domestic artists.

Where: Madein Gallery, Shanghai

When:  Until October 23, 2022
