Chinese youths have participated in activities to celebrate the 73rd birthday of the People's Republic of China during the week-long National Day holidays, including visiting the Museum of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing, in order to commemorate the history of the CPC, as well as welcoming the upcoming 20th National Congress of the CPC.

The 20th National Congress of the CPC will start on October 16 in Beijing.

Opening to the public on June 19, 2021, ahead of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC in July 2021, the Museum of the Communist Party of China has become a new landmark and popular destination in Beijing for visitors to learn about the Party.

During the holiday, some 10,000 teachers and students from 18 universities and people from various sectors of society visited the museum in Beijing, the Xinhua News Agency reported, citing data from the museum.

"I asked myself, can I sacrifice my life and everything for my belief and country?" said Guan Dihang, a postgraduate at Beijing Normal University. Guan told media that visiting the Museum of the CPC was a "baptism of the spirit."

"Having a Party class and learning the history of the CPC on National Day impassioned me," Cai Feixue, a student from the Aero Engine Research Center, Tsinghua University, was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

Cai was one of 120 Tsinghua teachers and students who visited the Museum of the CPC on the morning of October 1, where they reaffirmed their oaths to join the CPC next to a sculpture of the CPC flag at the museum.

"Visitors on National Day were especially passionate. I felt this during the course of the presentation and this filled my heart with strength," a museum guide told media.

Many youths told media that the lunar probe, G-series trains and other hi-tech products displayed in the museum excited them and makes them feel full of confidence in the country's future.

Apart from visiting the Museum of the CPC, Tsinghua University in Beijing organized a series of patriotism-themed activities from October 1 to 3 for teachers and students, including visiting the Tiananmen Square and the National Museum of China, the university said on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo.

According to media reports, more than 200,000 people, most of whom are college students, gathered at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing on October 1 to watch the national flag-raising ceremony, beaming with excitement and pride.
