Xi sends congratulations to Gala Dinner of National Committee on US-China Relations, stressing importance of China-US cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday sent a congratulatory message to the annual Gala Dinner of the National Committee on US-China Relations, pointing out that China-US cooperation will help increase stability and certainty of the world and help promote world peace and development. 

Xi said that the world today is not peaceful. As major powers, China and the US strengthening communication and cooperation will help increase the stability and certainty of the world and help promote world peace and development, Xi said.  

China is willing to work together with the US to respect each other, coexist peacefully, and achieve win-win cooperation, and find the right way for both countries to get along in the new era, which will not only benefit both countries, but also the world, the Chinese president said.

Xi hopes that the National Committee on US-China Relations and friends from all walks of life who care about and support China-US ties will continue to play an active role, helping the bilateral relations return to the track of healthy and stable development.

Xi also congratulated this year's Gala's honoree, Evan G. Greenberg, vice chair of the National Committee on United States-China Relations and chairman and chief executive officer of Chubb, and expressed appreciation to the committee and its members for actively promoting the development of China-US relations and exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries, according to a report by China's state broadcaster CCTV.

On the same day, US President Joe Biden also sent a congratulatory message to the annual Gala Dinner of the National Committee on US-China Relations, CCTV reported.
