Film music concert enlivens in Beijing

A classic film music concert is being performed by the Music Fans Classical Orchestra in Beijing until April 1. 

The orchestra will perform a number of Oscar-winning movie theme songs include "Greensleeves," "Speak Softly, Love," "Scarborough Fair," "Por Una Cabeza," "Right Here Waiting," "More Than Love," "Carrying you" and "City of Stars." 

The movie La La Land received 14 nominations at the 89th Academy Awards, tying the record for the most nominations for a single film in Oscar history. Its theme song "City of Stars" won the 74th Golden Globe Awards and the 89th Academy Awards for Best Original Song.

The Music Fans Classical Orchestra, established in 2015, maintains a squad of seven artists. 

It focuses on blending classical music elements with modern technology, and performs concerts at affordable prices for music enthusiasts. 

German events in March

As part of Germany's Theatertreffen in China, the Beijing Tianqiao Theatre will broadcast two plays at 7:30 pm on March 18 and 19: ­Rimini Protokoll's All right. Good night. and Ernst Jandl's Die Humanisten performed by the Vienna People's Theater. 

At Beijing's 798 Art District, German sound media artist Nik Nowak will host a solo exhibition g.gratiosa. 

Also in the capital, the 10th ­German Film Festival will open at the end of March, with the Broadway Cinema and the Goethe-Institut Peking presenting a selection of German feature and documentary films including Le Prince by Lisa Bierwirth and Contra by Sönke Wortmann.
