Under the influence of Super Typhoon Doksuri, Quanzhou, East China's Fujian Province suddenly drenched by heavy rain on Saturday. Unfortunately, a local jewelry store property was washed away by water, causing at least five-million-yuan ($699,359) in losses.

The owner, surnamed Huang, said that they had taken some preventive measures in advance, but the doors, windows and counters of the store were washed away. Standing at 1.63 meters, the water was above her neck, and she was almost washed away when looking for jewelry. Most of the jewelry is hard to find, but a small percentage is returned by residents who found it among the debris after the storm, she later said.

Many netizens felt regret about what had happened, noting that the recent heavy rain in many places across the country has brought adverse effects on security, economy, life and other aspects. "We can only take preventive measures to wait for the end of the extreme weather," one said.
