Du Zhaocai, a former deputy minister of China's General Administration of Sport and chief of China’s #football governing body, has been dismissed from Party membership and public office due to serious disciplinary violations, including taking bribes and confronting organizational investigations.

Two other senior officials have also been probed on the first day after the National Day holidays – Yin Meigen, former deputy secretary of the Party Group of Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, and Liu Liange, former Party secretary and chairman of the Bank of China.
