The first China-South Korea exchange meeting on practical economic cooperation was successfully held on Tuesday in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin Province, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner, said in an official WeChat post.

The meeting, held between the NDRC and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of South Korea, aimed to further deepen bilateral practical exchanges and cooperation in the economic field while also turning the consensus reached during the ministerial meeting into practical results.

The Chinese side said that the two sides should take the consensus reached by the top leaders from the two countries as a guide to continuously strengthen cooperation in development strategies, while actively participating in the comprehensive revitalization of northeastern China and enhancing the resilience in industrial and supply chains with high-quality integration.

China also vowed to deepen cooperation in various fields such as high-end manufacturing, digital economy, and green and low-carbon fields, while cultivating development potential in new fields.

South Korea said that the meeting was a significant way to promote pragmatic bilateral cooperation, and that the two sides can make full use of this platform to further expand people-to-people exchanges and explore new industrial cooperation models while jointly promoting the sound and steady development of the China-South Korea strategic cooperative partnership.

China and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding on supply chains and agreed to further strengthen economic cooperation in a ministerial meeting in August 2022.
