The National Administration of State Secrets Protection released a short public service video on Wednesday that highlighted potential secrecy risks in various daily-life scenarios, and emphasized that safeguarding state secrets starts with individual actions, aiming to reinforce and promote public vigilance that protecting state secrecy is every citizen's duty, Xinhua News Agency reported.

The public service video, titled "the guardianship at your fingertips," illustrated the risks of information leaks and state secret violations across various scenarios, such as Office Automation systems, image-text recognition software, smartwatches, livestreaming platforms, and mobile phone usage, underscoring that safeguarding state secrets begins with everyday actions, urging the public to heighten their awareness of security and confidentiality, Xinhua reported.

The video aimed to convey the message that "protecting state secrets is a shared responsibility, and every citizen has a role to play," the report said.

Additionally, the National Administration of State Secrets Protection designed and released public service posters to promote the principles and common knowledge of protecting state secrets. These materials explained the duties and obligations of citizens in maintaining confidentiality, aiming to build a strong public defense for safeguarding state secrets, Xinhua reported.

Tuesday was the 2025 National Security Education Day. To mark the occasion, various thematic activities were held in different regions in China to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining national security.
