When asked whether Chinese government plans to send representative to attend the funeral of Pope Francis, Guo Jiakun, spokesperson from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday currently he has no information to offer on this matter.

Pope Francis died on Monday at the age of 88, multiple media outlets including AFP and Reuters reported, citing the Vatican.

He had recently survived a serious bout of double pneumonia, Reuters reported.
