In response to a question on how to comment on the major terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Anantnag district of Indian-administered Kashmir on Tuesday, which resulted in multiple casualties, Chinese FM spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday that China has taken note of relevant reports and strongly condemns this attack.

We resolutely oppose all forms of terrorism, extend our condolences to the victims, and express sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and the injured, Guo said.

Gunmen killed at least 26 people and injured a dozen others in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, and most of the 26 people killed were understood to be travelers, CNN said.

The CNN report said US President Donald Trump condemned the attack, expressing US solidarity with India against terrorism and calling Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convey his condolences.

Other leaders from Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Iran, France, Italy and the UAE also expressed condemnation to the attack, reported CNN.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a communication addressed to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Modi, expressed grief over the "brutal crime" and said it had no justification, according to The Times of India.
