From April 25 to 30, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend the Sixth China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting and hold the Second China-Kazakhstan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue in Kazakhstan, and attend the Meeting of BRICS Ministers of Foreign Affairs /International Relations and the 15th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisers and High Representatives on National Security in Brazil, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.

In recent years, China's relations with Central Asian countries have developed rapidly, with all-round cooperation becoming deeper and more substantive. At this foreign ministers' meeting in Almaty, participants will have in-depth exchanges on issues of common concern, such as advancing China-Central Asia cooperation and strengthening the China-Central Asia cooperation mechanism, Guo Jiakun, spokesperson of the ministry, told at a press conference on Wednesday.

The primary objective of this meeting is to make comprehensive political preparations for the second China-Central Asia Summit, ensuring it is successful, smooth, and fruitful, Guo said.

This meeting takes place against the backdrop of a turbulent international landscape, marked by the US' abuse of tariffs that has disrupted the global economic order, Guo noted.

China hopes to use this meeting to deepen political mutual trust with the five Central Asian countries, strengthen mutual support, safeguard regional stability, jointly uphold international fairness and justice, and practice true multilateralism together.

When asked about China's expectations for the 15th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisers and High Representatives on National Security in Brazil, the spokesperson said the meeting will be held on April 30 in Brasília. During the meeting, China will exchange views with other BRICS countries on the current international security landscape as well as major global and regional issues.

At present, certain countries are going against the tide of the times, clinging to unilateralism and hegemony under the guise of "national interest first." They have recently wielded tariffs recklessly, seriously undermining international fairness and order, and exacerbating global security risks, Guo said.

More than ever, the international community needs sincere cooperation among nations to safeguard world peace and stability, Guo noted.

China looks forward to working with other BRICS partners to strengthen the BRICS strategic partnership, further enrich cooperation in the political and security fields, and inject positive, steady, and constructive BRICS momentum into maintaining global peace and security and improving global security governance, the spokesperson said.
