Brazilian president says he is not afraid of US revenge for drawing closer to China.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who is visiting China this week, said at a press conference on Wednesday in Beijing that Brazil is not worried about becoming a revenge target of US for getting closer to China.

When asked if Brazil is concerned about retaliation from Trump administration for drawing closer to China, Lula said as a major country, Brazil has its own principles and positions.

Lula said he hopes that Trump can understand Brazil's position and also hopes that Trump administration will not forget that the US has a huge trade surplus with Brazil.

Lula is on a state visit to China from May 10 to 14.
