Mark Carney was officially sworn in as the Prime Minister of Canada on May 13. When asked to comment on this, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday that Chinese Premier Li Qiang has sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Carney, stating that China attaches importance to the development of China-Canada relations. China is willing to work with Prime Minister Carney to take the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between China and Canada as an opportunity to promote the bilateral relationship in the right direction of improvement and development, based on equality and mutual respect, to better benefit the two countries and peoples.
