A group of international travel business delegates visited Beijing's iconic landmarks, including the Temple of Agriculture and the renowned Tong Ren Tang store, on Sunday, immersing themselves in the city's rich cultural heritage. The visit was part of a series of events launched by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism ahead of the 2025 Beijing Inbound Tourism Development Conference.
From Sunday to Monday, over 270 travel business delegates from over 40 countries and regions gathered in Beijing for a 48-hour "discover Beijing tour." These delegates were invited to attend the 2025 Beijing Inbound Tourism Development Conference, which is scheduled to open on June 3, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.
Chad Keating, one of the travel industry delegates, told the Global Times that it was his second time in China and that he hoped to see more. “I hope to come back again and again to visit,” he said.
At the upcoming conference, the bureau will unveil 10 themed inbound tourism routes under the "New Discoveries in Beijing" initiative. Delegates will have the opportunities to explore six of these routes before the conference opens. The initiative aims to offer a "diversified menu" and "targeted services" to support travel agencies in developing new tourism offerings in the city.
The new travel routes to be introduced at the upcoming conference include cultural experiences along Beijing's Central Axis, industrial tourism, canal culture, Great Wall heritage, technological innovation and more. These plans have already received positive feedback from participating travel agencies, according to the bureau.
