When asked to comment on some media reports saying that the Washington Post is investigating a cyberattack on email accounts of some of its journalists, including those who report on China, and that The Wall Street Journal claimed that the breach was potentially the work of a foreign government, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said he was not aware of the specific issue. Cyberattacks are a common challenge faced by all nations, and China consistently and firmly opposes all forms of cyberattacks and combats them in accordance with the law, he said. 

The Washington Post is investigating a cyberattack on email accounts of some of its journalists, according to a source familiar with the matter and an internal memo reviewed by Reuters.

We are willing to work with all parties through dialogue and cooperation to jointly address cyber threats, Guo said.
