The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to China hosted the 2025 Journalists' Reception in Beijing on June 25.
In his welcoming address, Jorge Toledo, the EU Ambassador to China, said that the EU offers supports to journalists, who "are telling the China story in Europe from a very objective point of view." The China story, which is the also story of success, impressive growth, and innovation, has to reach Europe, too, the ambassador said, while noting constructive stories such as the impressive development of renewables here in China.
"We admire your commitment to telling the stories that need to be told," Ambassador Toledo said.
The event hosted around 50 journalists from both China and EU member states. Journalists socialized, enjoying a summer night of live music.
The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the EU.
Over the past 50 years, the two sides have maintained close exchanges at all levels and across various fields, yielding fruitful outcomes in dialogue and cooperation. People-to-people and cultural exchanges have flourished, and multilateral coordination has delivered solid results.
