On Wednesday morning, the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) kicked off in Beijing. Donning a Tang suit instead of his iconic leather coat jacket, Nvidia's founder and CEO Jensen Huang delivered a speech in Chinese at the opening ceremony, drawing significant attention. Meanwhile, Nvidia's booth at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing became an instant hit among media and exhibitors, making it the "hot check-in spot" on the first day of the expo.

On Wednesday afternoon, when Global Times reporters visited Nvidia's booth, a cute and agile robotic dog was performing a lion dance, drawing a large crowd of spectators. A staff member told reporters that the robotic dog is equipped with Nvidia's "computing unit," which serves as its brain and nervous system, enabling it to perceive its surroundings and perform various actions.

Just like its logo, the Nvidia exhibition area at the expo is themed in green. The Global Times noticed that Nvidia showcased a variety of solutions for different fields, such as artificial intelligence (AI) image generation and intelligent vehicle safety driving.

"We didn't separately display the H20 chip or any individual graphics processing unit products. They are all presented as integrated software and hardware solutions. For example, the GPUs are actually embedded in these gaming laptops," the staff member explained.

The Global Times observed that Nvidia participated in the CISCE primarily through solution-based presentations. A staff member stated that "the application of AI inherently requires collaboration among all companies in the global supply chain; otherwise, a complete AI product cannot be formed."

Regarding the lift of the H20 restriction, a staff member told the Global Times that as Huang noted, this product can return to China. Just as Huang said, modern high-tech products such as GPUs and AI servers consist of thousands of components and are completed through the cooperation of supply chain manufacturers worldwide, which is the significance of our participation in the CISCE, said the staff member.

Some domestic enterprises that cooperate with Nvidia said that the lifting of restrictions on the Nvidia H20 is "highly anticipated," and it still has "significant potential" in the Chinese market.

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the third CISCE, Huang said China's open-source AI is a catalyst for global progress, giving every country and industry a chance to join the AI revolution. Open-source is also key to AI safety, enabling international cooperation on standards, benchmarks and safeguards.
