Five people were killed after a fire broke out in a residential building in Wuzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Sunday morning.

The fire occurred on the ground floor of a five-story building in the city's Longxu District at about 8:30 a.m., according to the district's emergency management bureau.

The fire has been extinguished and its cause is being investigated.
