The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia on Monday has called on local authorities to bring the perpetrators of two recent killings involving Chinese citizens to justice. The incidents occurred separately in Phnom Penh and Kandal province.

The embassy lodged representations with Cambodian officials, urging police to expedite investigations, apprehend the suspects and ensure severe punishment for those responsible, in order to safeguard the lives and property of Chinese nationals in the country.

Cambodian police have detained several Chinese suspects in connection with the Kandal province case. Both cases are currently under investigation and judicial proceedings are underway.
