A food courier reported to the police that he had found a white pillow near a residential area in Leshan, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, with the numbers "110 625" written in dark red liquid, the Hongxing News reported on Saturday. Upon investigation, it was revealed that a woman had been locked up for 30 hours and wrote the distress message by biting her finger.
A hotel staff member told police that there was a short-term rental apartment on the 25th floor of building 6, using the exact same type of pillow, said the report. Local police rushed upstairs for rescue.
They discovered that the apartment's owner surnamed Zhou had been accidentally locked inside the bedroom while cleaning the room. A gust of wind slammed the door shut, and a faulty lock left her trapped. To make matters worse, her phone was left outside in the living room.
Desperate for help, Zhou bit her finger to write "110 625" on a pillow before tossing it out of the window.
Since 110 is China's police emergency number, a food courier noticed the pillow and immediately alerted the police.
