China's State Council Work Safety Committee announced Saturday that it will prioritize the investigation and handling of the collapse at the Jianzha Yellow River Bridge construction project on the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway (Xining-Chengdu). The August 22 accident in Northwest China's Qinghai Province left 12 people dead and four missing, Xinhua News Agency reported Saturday.

The State Council Work Safety Committee, along with the Ministry of Emergency Management, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the National Railway Administration, has formed an on-site supervision team to oversee the full investigation in Qinghai.

Separately, Qinghai provincial authorities have set up their own investigation team, led by the province's executive vice governor. The results of the probe will be released in due course, according to China Central Television (CCTV) news.

Four people died and 12 others are missing after a construction cable broke at around 3 am Friday at a bridge under construction on the Qinghai section of the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway, according to the relevant department in Qinghai, Xinhua reported Friday.
