Taiwan media reported that during a recent visit to Japan, the German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul claimed that China has repeatedly "openly threatened to unilaterally change the status quo" in the Taiwan Straits, the East China Sea, and the South China Sea. In response, Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. This is the true status quo of the Taiwan Straits, an undeniable historical and legal fact, and a broad consensus of the international community that no person or force can distort or shake.

At present, the situation in the East China Sea and the South China Sea remains generally stable. Relevant countries should adhere to the one-China principle, properly handle issues related to Taiwan, and stop sending wrong signals to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, said Zhu on Wednesday's press conference.
