Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Tianjin on Saturday evening to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, which will be held from August 31 to September 1, 2025, CCTV News reported.

This is Lukashenko's 16th visit to China. Belarus established diplomatic relations with China in 1992 and was one of the first countries to join the Belt and Road Initiative, according to CCTV.

In September 2022, China and Belarus upgraded their relationship to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. China is Belarus's second-largest trading partner and its largest trading partner in Asia, CCTV reported.
