"What a remarkable occasion!" Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli wrote on the X platform on Wednesday. "This morning, I attended the commemorative events at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing, marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance and the World Anti-Fascist War," he wrote.

"I was deeply honoured to join the welcome luncheon reception and the gala performance hosted by H.E. the President of China at the Great Hall of the People. A truly historic gathering of global friendship and remembrance," he wrote.

The ceremony brought together more than 20 foreign heads of state and government, and senior representatives from many countries.
