Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), concluded his visit to China and departed for home by special train on Thursday evening, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Friday.
Kim bid farewells with the Communist Party of China and Chinese government senior officials, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese side and wished China endless prosperity and greater well-being for its people, the KCNA reported.
Amid the warm send-off of Chinese comrades, the special train carrying Kim slowly departed Beijing Railway Station, according to the KCNA.
Kim's visit to China marked a historic opportunity: it further consolidated the political trust between the two parties and two countries, strengthened their strategic coordination, and powerfully demonstrated that the friendship forged and tested through their common struggle for the victory of the socialist cause is eternal and unbreakable, according to KCNA.
Kim arrived in Beijing on Tuesday and attended commemorations on Wednesday marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
